History

Duguid, Gentry & Associates, PSC is a local firm with offices in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Clarksville, Tennessee. The firm provides a wide range of services including audits, reviews, accounting services, tax preparation and management advisory services for our clients. The firm presently serves clients primarily in Western Kentucky and Clarksville, Tennessee.

1956

In its present and predecessor business forms, DGA, P.S.C. has been in continuous operation in Hopkinsville, Kentucky since its founding by Francis C. Newton, CPA on August 1, 1956.

1983

Michael A. Kem, CPA joined as a partner on August 1, 1983.

1986

Robert W. Martin, CPA joined as in 1986.

1996

On October 1, 1996, the firm incorporated as Newton & Kem, P.S.C.

1997

On January 1, 1997, the firm name was changed to Kem & Martin, P.S.C.

1999

In 1999, Sandra D. Duguid, CPA joined the firm as Firm Manager and became a stockholder. The firm’s name was changed to Kem, Duguid & Associates, P.S.C.

2005

On July 1, 2005, Anna B. Gentry, CPA, CFE became a partner of the firm.

2013

A branch office in Clarksville, Tennessee opened on October 1, 2013.

2015

Michael A. Kem retired in December 2015.

2016

For a 17-month period (July 2016-November 2017), the firm joined operations with York, Neel & Company, LLP to form York, Neel & Associates, LLP.

2017

On December 1, 2017, the original Kem, Duguid & Associates, P.S.C. management and employees formed Duguid, Gentry & Associates, P.S.C.

2022

In September 2022, Sandra Duguid retired and Anna Gentry Herr became the sole owner.

2023

DGA acquired Scarbrough CPA firm in Russellville, KY.

2024

Clarksville office merged with the Hopkinsville office. Firm name changed from Duguid, Gentry & Associates to DGA, PSC.
